I’m worried the land I’m buying might be used as collateral. How do I find out if it’s already mortgaged with a bank?

Check the Encumbrances section at the back of the land title. If it lists a mortgage or lien, that means it’s still tied to a bank or loan.

Malalaman mong naka-mortgage ang property kapag nag-secure ka ng certified true copy ng title sa Registry of Deeds at chineck mo kung may nakasulat na mortgage o encumbrance sa likod.
