Many foreigners dream of buying a house and lot in the Philippines. This question clears up whether that’s legally possible through bank financing.

I want to buy a house and lot, not a condo. Can I do that using a bank loan even if I’m not Filipino?

Unfortunately, foreigners cannot directly own land in the Philippines. A bank loan won’t change that restriction. You can, however, buy a condominium unit or invest through a corporation that’s 60% Filipino-owned. If you’re married to a Filipino citizen, the property can be under your spouse’s name.

Nope.. Foreigners cannot legally own land or houses unless 60% of property is owned by Filipinos
